Patrol & Traffic

Deputies work 12-hour shifts to patrol Culpeper County, Va.

Patrol Division: The Patrol Division consists of deputies that are most often seen by county residents. They are the front line of defense against crime.

The primary goal of this division is to develop and maintain a safe and orderly environment for the citizens of Culpeper County. This includes the enforcement of criminal laws, traffic laws, civil process, and responding to residents’ complaints. This division includes K-9 and Special Operations Teams.

Traffic Division: The Traffic Division utilizes two Harley Davidson motorcycles and marked and unmarked patrol vehicles which are all equipped with radar units.  The main functions of this division are: traffic law enforcement, traffic safety education, apprehension of impaired drivers, assisting patrol units on “in progress” calls and other traffic related duties.
