Electronic incarceration is a cost-effective, intermediate sanction for sentenced, non-violent offenders who present a minimal risk to the community.
The participant’s social and criminal history must suggest a high probability of successful completion of the program. While participating in the program the participant, homeowner, and employer must allow visits and phone calls at any time day or night.
No inmate returning from the Department of Corrections may participate in this program unless authorized by the Department of Corrections and the sheriff.
PROGRAM BENEFITS
- The participant will remain gainfully employed while paying their taxes and their fees for the program
- Allows opportunities for the participant to make restitution to the courts
- Allows opportunities for the participant to participate in community-based and substance abuse counseling
- Participants will be able to assist their family
- Will assist in eliminating over-crowding within the Culpeper Adult Detention Center
