Culpeper County Jail
The mission of the Culpeper County Jail is to provide safety, security, and humane custody and treatment of those individuals in custody. The Sheriff’s Office provides facilities for male and female inmates awaiting trial and/or serving a sentence as punishment for a crime in which they were convicted.
The deputies working in the center receive specific training in booking procedures and prisoner safety. Trained medical staff is essential because the Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing routine healthcare to the inmates.
The jail is one of the few jails in the Commonwealth to provide meals cooked in-house by civilian staff. The custodial deputies remain mindful of public safety and maintain a cost-effective, efficient, and innovative management system of accountability.
